爵士鼓是爵士樂隊中十分重要的一種打擊樂器，它通常由一個腳踏的低音大鼓（Bass Drum，又稱“底鼓”）、一個軍鼓、二個或以上嗵嗵鼓（Tom-Tom Drum）、一個或兩個吊镲（Crash Cymbal）、一個節(jié)奏镲（Ride Cymbal）和一個帶踏板的踩镲（Hi-Hat）等部分組成。當(dāng)然有時因演奏需要會增設(shè)一些如牛鈴、木魚、沙槌、三角鐵、音樹，不管增設(shè)多少器件，都是由一人演奏。鼓手用鼓槌擊打各部件使其發(fā)聲。爵士樂中常用的鼓槌有木制的鼓棒，由鋼絲制成的鼓刷，由一捆細木條捆成的束棒等。

Test 1：

1) Performance of two musical pieces, one chosen by the candidate and one by the commission among five pieces presented. Pieces may be played in trio or with pre-recorded accompaniment and shall be selected among the following list: ? All the Things You Are ? Autumn Leaves ? Blue Bossa ? Lady Bird ? 3) Performace of a basic swing rhythm on cymbals and pedals, including hand coordination on drum on 4 and 8 beats measures.

5) Performance of the following fundamentals: single alternated hits, duoble hits, paradiddle, single grace note, multiple bounce.

Test 2：

1) Sight-reading solfège, with syllables, on the treble clef. Difficulty level: complex rhythmics appropriate to the instrumental or vocal repertoire up until the 1900s.

2) Sight-reading solfège, with syllables, on the seven clefs. Medium difficulty

3) Sight-singing of a melodic solfège. Short modulations and transposition (one note up or down).

4) Music dictation of a short melody with accidentals.

5) General music theory questions.

N.B.: candidates will be exempted from the latter test if awarderd with a TRPM (Theory, rhythmic and music perception) level A certification of preparatory courses (Preaccademico) issued by Conservatorio Rossini or by one of its certified partner schools, or if awarded with “Licenza di Solfeggio” certification of old-degree system (vecchio ordinamento) issued by any recognized Institution.

Test 2 (Piano practice)：

A basic knowledge of the piano is also requested. It will be verified by the performance of an easy chord progression or the performance of a blues theme or similar, played with right hand while playing an easy accompaniment with left hand.
